glad·i·a·tor glad-ee-ey-ter]
–noun
1. (in ancient Rome) a person, often a slave or captive, who
was armed with a sword or other weapon and compelled
to fight to the death in a public arena against another person
or a wild animal, for the entertainment of the spectators.

'Into the Mystic' is the collection I created for Autumn 2011. The inspiration behind this was an exploration of ancient gladiator times, I was inspired by the era, the armour and the detailing in the clothing worn. This collection has the feel of a gladiator but with a feminine approach. It is sexy & intensely strong.

Engineered studded pants & jackets are inspired by protective equipment or body arour. Jeans & leggings with reinforced knees / asymmetric closure on vests / capped sleeves / exposed zipper accents / full and voluminous skirts / bolt like studs and rusted sequins set to immatate the look of metal all channel this collection to a spirit that feels dark and disorderly.
This collection was a really enticing one to work on.

The gladiator who fights alone - with no inhibitions,
just the opponent ahead. Equipped with the bare essentials, she dances with
danger in the city streets, breaking hearts and taking names along the way.
